Afrata village stands on the Rodopos Peninsula.
It is a small quiet picturesque village with some accommodation, tavernas and two churches.
Afrata Beach lies in a small sandy cove. The beach is quiet, sheltered from the Northern Summer winds and boasts crystal clear sparkling water. It has facilities for sunbathing and swimming.
Food and drink is available at the beach and in the village.
Local medical facilities are available at the surgery every Thursday morning. Outside of this time you should visit the town of Kolimvari for medical attention.
Location:
28 kilometres from Chania. Accessed from Kolymvari, only 3.5 kilometers away, via a narrow tarmac road.
