FalasarnaInformation about Falasarna
Falasarna (Falassarna) has several beaches all very close to each other.
The first beach is adjacent to the archaeological site of the ancient town of Phalasarna. It is small and sandy and can be affected by the Summer north winds.
It has few facilities of its own but is within easy walking distance of neighbouring facilities.
Falassarna beach (south) is a small sandy beach with a rocky seabed, making it ideal for snorkelling.
The beach can be affected by the Summer north winds and by western winds. It has little in the way of facilities but is within easy walking distance of neighbouring facilities.
Falassarna's third beach stands close to the small port. The beach is small and pebbly. It can be affected by the Summer north winds and by the western winds.
The beach has some facilities for eating and drinking and some accommodation available.
The fourth and largest of Falasarna's beaches is Pachia Ammos or Long Beach.
Pachia Ammos is a long, wide sandy beach with crystal clear water.
It can be affected by winds from the north-west but is little affected by the Summer north winds.
It has facilities for food and drink, swimming, sea sports and sunbathing and accommodation is available.
Pachia Ammos beach was voted and awarded the Best Beach of Greece in 2002.
All the beaches are accessed by a good quality secondary road.
In addition to its beautiful beaches and location, Falasarna is a special place to watch spectacular sunsets. Stay a while and enjoy natures wonderful show.
The location of Falasarna is very picturesque and the drive to the beaches from Kissamos provides beautiful views of the coastal and mountain scenery.
Location:
Falasarna is situated on the western end of Crete. It is easily accessed from the National road by following the signs from Kissamos.
